After an illustrious 4-year collegiate basketball career at Virgina Tech, Zabian Dowdell pursued a career as a professional basketball player. A 2-time high school state player of the year, 4-year starter at Virginia Tech University in the prestigious ACC, first team All-ACC performer, first team ACC defensive player, member of the 2008 French Pro A league champions, and most valuable player in the Italian A-2 league in 2009, Zabian Dowdell knows what it takes to succeed on and off the court.
Having played professionally in France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Lithuania, and the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, he has networked and established relationships with many professional athletes and sports executives. Identifying the need for unique and exclusive personal and business services to professional athletes, he became a managing member of Sports Agent 411, LLC. Zabian graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 with a degree in property management.
One of the most well-respected and sought-after front office executives in the NBA, David Griffin brings his professional sports-business expertise and extensive experience to Sports Agent 411. Known as a “salary-cap expert”, Griffin started his career with the Phoenix Suns as a 23-year-old in 1993. After aiding the club’s media relations efforts for four seasons, Griffin moved to the basketball operations side in 1997, where he began with draft and free agency information, video preparation, scouting reports and statistical analysis.
Prior to his current assignment, Griffin held the titles of assistant general manager of player personnel, director of player personnel, assistant director of player personnel, and basketball operations assistant with the Suns. He was also the assistant general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Griffin is currently the General Manager for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He graduated from Arizona State University in 1995 with a degree in political science.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Pete was a 6th round draft choice of the San Diego Chargers in 1977. In his first 2 seasons, the hard-hitting safety was twice voted the Bolt’s Special Teams Player of the Year. A solid defender at strong safety, he was consistently among the team leaders in tackles and interceptions. He counts playing with the great players of the three electrifying “Air Coryell” Western Division Championship teams of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s as his fondest memories on the gridiron. His stellar 5 year stint with the organization earned him the honor of being nominated to the Charger’s 40th Anniversary All-Time team. From 1982 to 1984, Pete he served as captain of the tough, highly-respected New York Giants Special Teams. During the 1983 campaign he tied a team record for most punt returns in a game (9).
For Super Bowl XXXIV, to express his appreciation for the service and dedication of our troops around the world, Pete and ex-teammate Willie Buchanon made a USO tour to Sarajevo, Bosnia. Currently, Pete resides in San Diego where he is a Vice President/Financial Consultant with Wells Fargo Investments, a division of the firm’s Private Client Services. He is the younger brother of legendary trumpeter Woody Shaw. Pete graduated from Northwestern University in 1977 with a degree in history.
